Foothills Spotlight Magazine premiered in March 2007. It was a quarterly magazine until 2010 when we started publishing bi-monthly. We came up with the magazine idea when a client of our ad agency, Champion Communications, asked about targeting households of $100,000-plus incomes in Cleveland and surrounding counties. Realizing there was not an existing medium that reached that elusive audience effectively, we conceived and launched Foothills Spotlight Magazine.

 

We currently print 12,000-15,000 issues bi-monthly with strategic drop-off locations that include hotels, restaurants, businesses, banks, doctors’ offices, etc., throughout Cleveland, Rutherford and Gaston counties. We are in the process of expanding our coverage area so we will eventually encompass six-to-eight counties over the next 12 months. Our magazine is available also in all 13 Welcome Centers entering the state of North Carolina. Even though Foothills Spotlight Magazine is a free publication, we recently began offering subscriptions and now deliver to over 100 homes outside our area.

 

Foothills Spotlight is a lifestyle magazine that tells about the amazing people, places and events in the Foothills region, in many cases exploring stories that no one else is covering. The passion all of us here share is how much we love and are proud of our region and how much we enjoy telling our stories through words and pictures! We have always placed an emphasis on creating a quality product that our target market of upscale, educated readers will enjoy reading.We will continue that emphasis; we hope you continue to enjoy our magazine!
